Zukerman Trio: CANCELLED

The Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation announces that the two concerts with the violinist and conductor Pinchas Zukerman scheduled for July 9 at the Trevelyan Park of the Villa Comunale and Wednesday, July 12 at the Teatro Antico are canceled due to the unavailability of the artist.

Ticket refunds will be available until and no later than July 21, 2023 in the following ways:

Pinchas Zukerman

With a career spanning five decades, Pinchas Zukerman is one of the most in-demand and versatile musicians of the moment: solo violinist and violist, conductor and chamber musician.

He is renowned as a virtuoso, admired for his playing’s expressive lyricism, singular beauty of timbre and impeccable musicianship, which can be heard in his discography of over 100 albums for which he has earned two Grammy awards and 21 nominations.

He has been awarded the Medal of Arts, the Isaac Stern Award for Artistic Excellence and was named the first instrumentalist mentor of the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative.

Amanda Forsyth

Canadian Juno Award winner, Amanda Forsyth is considered one of the most dynamic cellists in North America. From 1999 to 2015 she was Principal Cellist of the National Arts Center Orchestra where she appeared regularly as a soloist and in chamber ensembles.

She is recognized as an outstanding concert, soloist and chamber musician, with leading orchestras in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia.

As a recording artist she is featured on the Fanfare, Marquis, Pro Arte and CBC labels.

Shai Wosner

Pianist Shai Wosner has gained international recognition for his outstanding artistry. His performances of a wide range of repertoire – from Beethoven and Schubert to Ligeti and the music of today – reflect a degree of virtuosity and intellectual curiosity that has made him a favorite with audiences and critics, who note his “ keen musical mind and his deep musical soul” (NPR’s All Things Considered). Wosner is the recipient of Lincoln Center’s Martin E. Segal Award, an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award.
